Christmas Sessions

Why We Start Christmas Sessions in Early November (No, It’s Not Too Early!)

I know, I know—Christmas already? But when it comes to planning those perfect family photos, early November is actually the sweet spot. And no, I’m not pushing holiday cheer on you just yet! There are some very practical reasons we get the ball rolling early (even if it means breaking out the Christmas sweaters while the fall leaves are still crunching outside).

Here’s why booking your session early is totally worth it:

1. Time to Plan, Shoot, and Print

It’s not just about showing up to the studio for 20 minutes in your festive best. Planning these sessions takes a little thought—outfits, coordinating schedules, and envisioning how you want those holiday cards and gifts to look. And once the session happens, you’ll want enough time to:

  • Choose your favorite photos

  • Order custom prints (like albums, framed portraits, or unique photo gifts)

  • Get them delivered and ready before Christmas.

Quick Reminder: For 2024, custom gift print orders need to be placed by November 13th to ensure everything arrives in Switzerland on time for me to distribute before the holidays. No one wants to explain to Aunt Linda why her gift is late!

2. A Fast Turnaround, But Totally Worth It

Yes, things move quickly between your session, editing, and delivery of the final photos. But starting in early November gives us just enough time to get it all done—without the mad holiday rush. My goal is to give you the best possible images for prints and cards without the stress of last-minute editing. After all, you deserve to enjoy the season too!

3. Avoid the December Time Crunch

Once December rolls around, schedules get wild. Booking your session in early November means you won’t be trying to squeeze a photo shoot between holiday shopping, school events, and parties. Getting this done early gives you more time to relax later—trust me, you’ll thank yourself.

4. Perfect Timing for Christmas Cards

If sending out Christmas cards is your annual tradition, having your session in early November means you’ll have plenty of time to choose the best shots, design your cards, and get them in the mail before the post office goes into holiday overload. You’ll even have time to add a little handwritten note!

5. Custom Printed Gifts = The Ultimate Holiday Surprise

This is where the magic really happens. There’s something extra special about giving (or receiving) a custom photo print as a gift—whether it’s a stunning framed portrait, a keepsake album, or even a holiday ornament. I’m excited to offer more of these customized options this year because printed memories last a lifetime and look beautiful in any home.

In Summary: Why Early Planning is a Holiday Win

Yes, we’re starting sessions in November, but that’s all part of the plan! By getting your family photos done early, we can avoid the holiday madness, and you’ll have plenty of time to order custom gifts and cards. Plus, it means less stress and more festive fun. Let’s make those memories last this holiday season!
